Black Ops 2 Zombies Mode Game Modes List

Zomies Teaser Picture

We already know that Black Ops 2′s Zombies Mode will feature more players, more zombies and new game modes. Now that the Zombies reveal trailer has been released, the developer can talk a little bit more about the ‘side game’. Treyarch’s Mark Lamia revealed the new Black Ops 2 Zombies game modes at a press event this week. Black Ops 2′s Zombies mode will feature no less than 3 game modes at launch. Check out the list of game modes and their descriptions below:

Classic Survival

Fend off endless waves of undead.

Tranzit

Tranzit is a story-based Zombies campaign set in a large world for up to four players to explore. Actually, Tranzit is the biggest world the team at Treyarch has ever created for Zombies. Players will have access to transportation – the fortified bus seen in Zombies mode’s first trailer - to travel from map to map. Players will be able to fight on the bus as it transports the team. They’ll also be able to get off the ‘anti-zombie bus’, go out into the fog to explore, and search for parts for “buildables” (read on for details), perk machines, new dangers and surprizes.

As mentioned earlier, Tranzit mode also features player-created items, “buildables” that can be used as Wonder Weapons, a means of defense or to open up new parts of the map. The assault shield seen in the reveal trailer is an example of the player-created items. You’ll need to find multiple parts spread across the maps to put together these “buildable” items, though.

Tranzit also ties into the story behind the ‘Moon’ Zombies map that released with the original Black Ops.

Grief

Grief is a competitive mode that pits humans versus humans versus zombies. Players can’t directly shoot each other to kill the opposing team, but you can make their lives harder if you employ some interesting tactics – or “grief” them. Grief will be playable in matches of two to eight players in various team-sizes. Last team standing wins.

Custom Zombies Mode Games

For the first time Treyarch is also including the ability for players to create their own custom rules if there’s something you don’t like about any of the other three modes. You can have only headshots kill, turn off magic items or define the round you start at, for example.
