Black Ops Design Director Admits to “F$&king-Up” by Including Second Chance
Treyarch’s charismatic Game Design Director David Vonderhaar has manned-up and admitted via Twitter – which has since been deleted - that he “f**ked-up” by including the universally hated Perk Second Chance in Black Ops. Second Chance allows players to survive a normally fatal amount of damage and use their pistol for up to 10 seconds whilst limited to crawling on the ground.
See that gun to my head in my pic? That’s how I feel about 2nd Chance. We meant well. I f**ked up. Enough spam. Goodnight. <3 U moar.
Ask 100 Call of Duty gamers what they think of Second Chance and chances are the majority will tell you that it sucks and should not be included in FPS games. We’re glad that the now well-established Call of Duty developers Treyarch, which they have proved by producing the on-the-whole very well balanced game that is Black Ops, are capable of recognizing mistakes from previous outings and going by the tweet that Mr Vonderhaar sent out are capable of spotting and willing to rectify. Let’s hope the next Call of Duty title, rumored to be codenamed Iron Wolf, will top Black Ops and the just released, record breaking Modern Warfare 3.

Second chance is for people who can’t get kills without having to fall on their a** and pulling out their pistol and then crawling to the nearest player to get revived

I love second chance. Its an easy perk to pro. I love the ability to rescue fallen teammates who are using second chance pro. I really enjoyed the medic class in BF3 where you can revive a fallen teammate. And really hate that MW3 implemented second chance as a deathstreak, and you can revive the person, they just have to survive long enough. booo

Meh. Second Chance isn’t JACK compared to quickscoping in MW3.
Traded it already, so have 4 friends of mine.

our opinion is that they screwed up by listening to the community too much. adn Infinity Ward screwed up by not listening at all. keep doing what you think is best. when it blows up in your face you will know IW and Treyarch. Best wishes– Google Communtiy

Most of the maps MW3 are for run’n gun, quick draw contest and already bored! A lot of quick draw types fondly refer to us as “F***ing Campers”, but if these shooter games were based on “real” war gun fights , they’re life expectancy would be as long as a 2nd LT in Nam.
That brings to to my second point, game ranking! Top ranking should go to the top kill ratio not number of kills! Geez! these guys run around like headless chickens and rack up high body counts on the enemy and themselves like 25 kills , but they die 24 times, so they net ONE kill for the team, and they get top billing!
So maybe the “quick draws” should find a War game that has no camo, no scoped rifles,no suppressors, no stealth modes…that would be realistic!

I HATE SECOND CHANCE! Everytime I rush around a map, I’m on a killstreak, I shoot at someone, and that noob has Second Chance and he ends up surviving. I get mad everytime!!!

I really don’t know what Infinity Ward was thinking when they decided to put Final Stand in the game as Death Streak, which enables you, when you die, to get back up again. And not only that, in Black Ops if you originally killed someone with second chance and someone else then killed that person whos in Second Chance, you would still get the kill and the points. In MW3 they basically made it the same as it was in MW2 where the one who finishes the final stand noob off gets the points.
Not only that…there is Dead Mans’ hand.
Lol, I like reviving in BF3, it’s great and not really overpowered since you need someone else to revive you and there isn’t always someone else with you. But in CoD it’s just dumb.
Also I don’t get why people used to hate on Ghost while in MW2 and MW3 there is basically the same perk, but only with different name, in MW3 it’s even more OP…it’s probably just because in Black Ops you could easily see if someone was using Ghost and then easily blame it on that fact that you died.

Why has the camping gotten worse? I was excited to see the campers go to MW3, but, seems like they have come back to Black Ops. Most players agree, camping is cheap & the sign of a noob or a no talent waste of space. Can’t treyarch do something to discourage or penalize camping? Boo me all you want, but EVERYONE knows I’m right!!!!!!
