Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Accidentally Confirmed by Amazon?

In more news that points to confirmation that Black Ops 2 will be the next installment in the Call of Duty series, a product listing briefly appeared on Amazon’s French site today.

According to French blog gameblog.fr, the Black Ops 2 Amazon listing was put up on the retailers French site yesterday before being hastily taken back down. But, not before the following screens were taken.

The blog claims that they were contacted by Activision shortly after publishing the post with a request to pull the story and images, to which gameblog.fr refused. Activision then decided to blacklist the blog from their events, including a Transformers: Fall of Cybertron event that they had previously been invited to, only backing up the fact that Black Ops 2 is real.

Of course the images could have easily been Photoshopped, or it could be a genuine mistake on Amazon’s part, but considering Activision’s efforts to have the site take the story down and their actions when the request was denied, it’s looking more likely every day that Black Ops 2 will be the next Call of Duty game you slot into your disc tray. Not to mention the publishers recently securing the previously privately-owned blackops2.com domain.

Keep up with all Black Ops 2 news and developments here.
