Hackers get Black Ops Mods Working Already!
Not good news, I’m afraid. They have hacked and modded Black Ops already. Days before the game is officially available, videos have started appearing that show a number of mods running in Black Ops.
Even though Treyarch have said that modding will not be possible in Black Ops, both Zombie Mode and private matches (inevitably public games, too) have already been modded to allow unlimited ammo, super speed and super jump on the Xbox 360 version of the game! Seems like it wasn’t to hard for these guys to accomplish, either.
Let’s hope Treyarch can get on top of this somehow. But chances are that these guys will always find a way around whatever precautions the Devs take, unfortunately. Mods ruined Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer for me at one point, lets hope the same doesn’t happen with Black Ops and we don’t start seeing this crap in every other public match.

Mods can be good and fun too.. love the zombies mods.. for mp.. if you do not like them.. do not play on them.. I can’t believe people are this stupid. It is not illegal to sell them to minors, it’s against store policy. Only three states have attempted to pass laws making it illegal to sell M rated games to minors New York, California, and I forget the last one. All three have had them repealed by the State Supreme court as unconstitutional.
Your American all have access fully to the knowledge and liberties of free access to information, no matter the form. This means all media DVDs, Magazines, Games, Books. To give legal merit to the prohibition of one form over another is an every increasing road to restricting material to all peoples.
Meaning if you can pass a law to prohibit one group aka minors from information or the expression of information (this is your first amendment right), would open up a gate way to allow it on other groups, minorities people aged between 23-30? You might think it sounds ridiculous right now, but what about 50 years from now 100 years from now, or 150 years from now. Where will the removal of the first amendment stop?

Come off it. Yes I hate modders in online multiplayer, but no I don’t hate them in zombies, campaign, or splitscreen co-op. It is so funny to play modded zombies, and making the game better for yourself is your choice (it is your payed for game). But when people hot-swap and disc mod to mod real multiplayer, that is out of order.
I don’t mind (I am not one of them) people who hack the game beyond believe (super speed, super knife, e.t.c) because you can see the humour in just being pwnage, but when people disguise it or group mod, then it is just annoying when you can’t kill them or all your shots miss and they are slightly faster than you and their guns kill in a bullet; modding for xp is just stupid!

i think if treyarch is gonna limit modding they should send out an update stopping mods from multiplayer but keep them for zombies solo and private matches. im new to modding and just got a few mods for solo zombies, but im awfully sure that modding online for gaining experience within such a game is illegal.

I agree, if you don’t like mods don’t play em. I have been playing FPSs for years and my fav by far is Enemy Territory. You know why? Because there are thousands of hacked/custom servers that make the game a hell of a lot more interesting. I can play that game for a week and never have to play the same map twice. If I don’t want to play the hacked servers, I DON’T JOIN THEM.
You have control, it’s your mouse and keyboard/pad. I like hacked/modified servers and I don’t need you squares controlling my gameplay. Butt out and find something you feel in control of, like your bills and TV.

Hacking is a way of life and a option of life. I do not agree with multiplaying hacking because it affects your rating in all aspects.When you dont know how to play it is your option also. There is a way to not mod and become better .It is called combat training. I know some guys that mod that are perfect without the Mod.I just dont know why they cheat in multiplayer.It is stupid to me but that does not give me the right to object to there friendship.If we play and win against them then it comes a time in our way of excellence and training.It can also help when you own a Modded player and can laugh at there mistakes. I cant wait for the developers and admin to catch up to what is happening right now. I foresee another million or so 360 users being banned, just how it happened a month after MW2 came out :p Almost every other game I join i run into people who are modding and it does take the fun out of the game for sure. If you want to mod the game to play by yourself against the CPU or something that’s one thing but to run around cheating people out of a good gaming experience is selfish.

I DO know how to mod, a monkey could do it! I just choose no to because it takes the WHOLE fun out of the game! They have tried to make this version of ‘Call of Duty’ more fair for everyone so it’s more balanced and people have more of a chance and actually ENJOY it! Then these people who mod and install stupid things on their XBOX’s have to ruin it for everyone else!

Well you’ve just made it abundantly clear that you aren’t intelligent enough to hack anything. I would suggest you either:
A. Go back to school and brush up on grammar and spelling, or;
B. Purchase a better translation device.
If you lazy asses that create mods think you’re so intelligent, try applying yourself and become a legitimate developer. And for those that are even lazier and just pay for or download the crap that somebody else built, you shouldn’t be aloud near a console. For Christ’s sake play for fun and the competition of it, but do it fairly. Modding games is just like using steroids in the MLB. I’m a construction worker and I work hard in the hot and cold for the money I get to buy my games. If all these little spoiled brats that get everything handed to them had to actually EARN the money for their games they might actually appreciate the game instead of thinking they should win because mommy and daddy give them everything. I’ll admit I may cheat every once in awhile during single player stuff but not online because that has become the core gaming experience and I want to enjoy it the way it was meant to be played as does everybody else. Oh how I wish I was a cpu genius then I’d develop something that could detect the cheats these little wimps use when I’m in a match against them that would give them the red ring oh how sweet that would be. And furthermore if I wanted to hack mod or whatever I know ppl that could do it for me but I don’t because I like the game and want everyone else to too. I am starting to hate modders. Just a few hours ago, I was two feet away from a guy and unloaded a clip into him. No hitmarkers, then I tried stabbing him without success. Im not sure it that one was a modder but how else do you explain it. Then I also got raped by a guy that was killing me (in regular team deathmatch) with one or two shots. I have a k/d of 2. Plus there is nno way a Famas can beat a Commando or AK74U that close range. I would like it if anyone could tell me if these were mods. (by the way I am a pretty good shot, so dont say I suck).

There is a difference between modding and hacking, you dumb asses.
A modded server is fine as long as every is playing the same mod. If there is a hacker in the server, then that will affect the other players.
I love mods, on PC every game is modded and no one gives a s**t because it’s they’re so fun.
Microsoft thought no one could hack there system, but it happened and they don’t even go to the bother of making an anti hack service like Valve does for PC.
I remember MW2 was modded for Xbox and people were falling the roof on that map “high rise” I think that’s what its called. It’s fun, stop complaining. Hackers are the only problem, and those modded controllers.

Well i agree with most of you here modding is fun offline but when it’s online it ruins the game, i like zombies mods and private match mods but when you drag it onto the actual online experience its wrong. fair enough by hacking or modding zombies you can easily get achievments that are really hard to do, but its all to help i only need 4 achievments on Call Of Duty: Black Ops and that is revive a team mate with pack a punch Ballistic Knife, buy all weapons off the walls in a single zombies game, shoot a team-mate or be shot at by a pack a punch crossbow and kill 6 zombies with the explosion and kill the pentagon theif before it steals your weapon.

Hacks, and cheating are bad.
I just wish console users wouldn’t refer to them as “MODs” which is a completely different thing. I made 3 zombie mods myself and helped guys make others (Modern Weapons) and specialized maps on the PC version of COD:WaW. Most of the mods created (and all of mine) were designed to make the game MORE challenging and all of them effected everyone in the game. We even put in code to detect if a player was using an ammo cheat and punish them for it by increasing the difficulty through the roof.
The only reason I don’t play CoD on the console very often is because it limits me to the basic game. I play in an oldschool mode in zombies for example where door prices start at a basic rate and increase as the levels do, nor can I increase the difficulty by making weapons more expensive or creating new AI zombie characters that teleport, stalk the player or aid comrades by guarding barricades from players. All of this was possible with modding and implemented through MODs that console users couldn’t install. In short, a MOD is simply something that adds something new to the game or creates a whole new game using the game engine as a base (Stargate MOD for Crysis)
Cheats on the other hand are designed to give an advantage to one particular player and I loathe them!!

I love it how people scream about “mods” like super jump and speed and unlimited ammo, the way i see it its not even a f**king mod, its just console commands. by console i dont mean the actual unit. Look at a pc game and youll see, all you have to do is open the in game console, and type a command like player_sustainammo 1. There you go you have unlimited ammo. Theres no real modding behind it, its actually ALREADY THERE. those “modders” just ported them onto the 360 which i imagine wouldnt be that hard.

Remember the way this companies make money is selling the game and having a “side” operation selling the hacks, I’d seen hackers playing xbox that don’t die even with a full clip or they have last stand and can turn around super fast. It really sucks having to play with all these loosers, however it is business as usual so we have to live with it. However will be nice if next time they don’t advertise that there won’t be hacks, as they always leave the back door open.

Modding is fine when its in a lobby and everyone in the lobby is using the same mod, because if you don’t want to play with the mod you can just leave the lobby and find another, but when someone has modded the controller so they have instant reload or automatic shooting (for semi-automatics, like the FN FAL) then thats just stupid, because they may as well use an automic gun. Hacking, though, is just unfair. I’m not having a go at modders and hackers cos they have made some pretty trippy s**t, they just shouldn’t use it in public games against other people that don’t have hacks. If someone wants to hack or mod, go for it. Just please stay offline!!

I think some of you are misinterpreting what a modder really is, a true modder doesn’t give himself an advantage over other players or anything like that, (I don’t consider a cheater to be a real modder btw) instead, a modder takes a game that has been played too much for his interest and decides that this could be more fun for both myself, and others who feel the same way, if I changed this, and thus a mod is born, for instance, zombies was originally a mod, and people liked it so much it became an official game type. Mods and hacks aren’t just about cheating they can be about improving the game and just experimenting. I’ve been messing with games since I first turned a PC on about 15 years ago. Look at Enemy Territory, the only reason thousands of people still play it is because it’s been modified/hacked/improved.
Some mods are for cheating such as aimbots, wallhacks etc, but who cares? If the player feels that they need these tools to enjoy the game leave them to it. How does it affect you? If you feel it does then chances are your the type of person who drives in the fast line doing 60mph. This lane is for overtaking, get the hell outta my way. Same goes for modded servers, we don’t want you there as much as you don’t want people to mod the game.
Think about others and not just yourself and if you still feel like you don’t have control over your life, go back to the television and sell your computer.

Ok first off modding Black Ops online is currently impossible because of Title Update 4. And don’t call it hacking because that isn’t what it is. It is MODDING. But the TU4 patch cured a lot of the gpd, dvar, and other mods I like to use. But look around! How many times have you been playing in a match and your friend gets completely owned and starts screaming at the other team for being hackers? It’s damn near impossible to use mods online! What do you guys not get about that?!?! Really the only way to use mods in a public match is with a jtag. Not many people have them because they are about $400 USD to get one that won’t break after 2 months, and they need a new KV everytime you want to go online. Those cost about $20-$60 USD a piece. Jtags are almost entirely reserved for tenth lobbies. Modding is also hellishly fun. It’s the whole prospect of customizing the game to work better for your use and get the most fun out of it. It’s challenging and rewarding. Im not trying to tell you modding is what everyone should do because it’s not. Many people do them in single player and Nazi zombies. As for that guy who said “hackers” ruined mw2 he must have been playing on the computer because on the xbox the only online non jtag mods are name and clan tag mods. Just realize that modding is like adding a little extra flavor to the game to make it more fun for a longer time.

For the modders out there, why don’t you try playing without having to hide behind your mod/hacks and show some balls for once. If you think buying and showing of some rip off mod you bought just to win, that just shows you fail and is a dumbass for spending extra money on something that comes with a risk of you getting banned. If you are going to cheat, stay offline or on your own servers. For most of you defending modding/hacking, stay out of legit multiplayer matches. We don’t want c**ts who can’t play fair and take the challenge out of the game. Buffing yourself with speed or health doesn’t make you any more of a skillful gamer. Using an aimbot doesn’t make you any more of a skillful gamer. I don’t mind if I lose to a legit player who has better gamer skills but those who lack the skills and need a “boost” ruin the fun. to me – anyone who hacks should have the IP address banned until they pay a fee for unbanning- make it like $25.00 (USD) the first time, $50 the second, $100 the third, $250 the fourth. If they cant take the hint then the fifth time there would be no re-instating that IP address.

i hate modding in muitiplayer but in zombies i dont know what your so mad about. zombies get dull at times mods make them fun like infinite ammo its funny. you run aroud throwing monkey bombs next to traps . you have super jump wich is so much fun you jump in the pack-a-punch room and lob greanades everwhere. so just imbrace the fact that no matter what u do people will mod and make the game better. (no im not a modder this is just my opinion)

First day black ops came out I could not wait to get on it. Now tho I wish I never bought the game. Evry game I have is modded its getting out of hand. I wont lie I aint a master of the game but when I see the kill cam all the bulls**t like auto aim bullets hit u when they actually shudnt count ppl on it eat your bullets u shoot at them yet when u shoot them u need a put 2 clips of ammo in them then ye its all modded. what about all the ppl with coulored clan names that aint even fifth prestiged. I dont mind them in private matchs and zombies as its all fun but in a match agaist others who paid for the game well it isnt fair think of all the ppl who wasted all the money on it to find mods takeing over tbh I hope there hands fall off.

Wow. Some of the best games were made from mods of retail products. Half Life brought Counterstrike, CoD:WaW brought ZombieX, and so on. Modding for cheating purposes, however, is bloody r****ded. Sure many of us like to see what an exploit for inf. ammo does, but only someone who plays jack $h1t for games would use them for personal gain. Yes, modding is awesome, as long as it’s within context.

Modding makes the game better I use xp mods. so now I am bad at playing the game just because I used an xp mod in mw2. The truth about modding is that it is needed to progress the game because who really wants to spending that much time getting to the last prestige and mods didn’t ruin mw2 because if you. Get into a modded lobby you just can leave. O and modders don’t suck, I modded and I can still kick most people’s asses in quickscoping.

really you guys are not the smartest; modders made custom killstreaks, hackers just screw the game with unlimited ammo etc. modder create new game modes, hackers just made aimbots.

Hacking and Modding are two different things. People who think Modding a game to make it a little more fun is hacking are ignorant to the many different possibilities out there. A hack is an unfair advantage a MOD is something everybody in the game can use.

Theses games are ment to be fun but with all hackers and modders they are becoming less fun. if you have to hack and mod to win then chances are your just a looser. THATS RIGHT I SAID YOUR A BUNCH OF LOOSER. try playing against some one that does not have to hack or do any modding and I gaurante you will loose every time. So quite messing up theses games. there supose to be fun but with people like you there just becoming a waste of time and money.

I personally hate people that hack the game to get an advantage. But, when they have a visual mod, like the pic above, i’m ok with that. There is no advantage to having a badass face paint. Without mods to make the game funner, not to cheat, we wouldn’t have Garry’s Mod
