How Long Should it Take To Prestige in Call of Duty Black Ops?
From the amount of input that Call of Duty: Black Ops developers are requesting from the community – on key elements I might add – the end product surely won’t fail to disappoint. The guys have already requested your Prestige reward and multiplayer ideas, now they want some more of your valuable input.
How long should it take to Prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops? Less than 12 hours, 12hrs, 18hrs, 24hrs, 40hrs, 60hrs, or more than 60hrs. That’s the latest in an ever growing list of suggestion requests that Treyarch developer David “Vahn” Vonderhaar has put to the Call of Duty community via the official forums.
We’ve copied the post from Vonderhaar below, but if you want to put your 2 cents in, head over to the forum thread and tell the developers how long you think it should take (on average) to Prestige in Black Ops.
“Let’s have a discussion about how long it should take you to Prestige.
Imagine it is day 1. You just bought Black Ops and started playing MP.
Think of the time as “game time played” or “hours spent playing MP on an average day” and not “real time” or “when you have a good day.”
Don’t worry about which Playlist or game mode you are playing, your skill level, or any Double XP weekend.
Think about it like I need to think about it. At a macro level.
In development, we are logging the average XP earned per hour played, so I have a statistically accurate idea of how long it will take you.”

Agree. Maybe do less EXP for private matches though because that can be abused SO easily, example go look at 10k kill streak on youtube.. yeah….

I think it should Be 24Hr Or 5 Hrs More Make It like Cod 4 hard 2 lvl up but its worth it ^-^ Bcuz Like Mw2 was messed up by noobtubes HITMARKERS, And Commando , Also Nuke boosting . Cod4 was beast

If it only takes you a couple of weeks to be fully prestiged if it takes 24hrs to prestige and there is 15 then you definatly have no life.

Armadillo Man, It takes on average 24 hours of actual “in game playing” to prestige. Each game is normally about 15 minutes. So add up all of those games and you should get to level 50 within 24 hours. Not one ACTUAL day..

i think it should only be 12-18 hours to prestige and that’s on average so if ur really good you could pristege in 8 hours… this is just my opinion. i like it when you can get a taste of all the weapons in a short time, which keeps it fresh.

I think that it should be 65 or 70 levels that would be best because not too long and not too short.This is probably the only rhig that IW got right with MW2

It should take as long as MW2 but I feel that once u reach 70 u unlock everything and should be able to prestige but your rank keep going up. for example people who dont prestige might be prestige 1 but thier rank is 82 or a 10th prestige might be a 102. it just takes more xp. it just show experience and it don’t feel like u just playing for no reason

Don’t you guys see. They made it rank lvl 50, to prestige because 1. There’s more then ten prestiges. 2. You can buy whatever you want e,g guns without having to rank up high to get them and when u prestige, 5 minutes l83r you have the same gun again with attachments thx to cod points. 3. Take this e,g in mw2 say u prestiged but then u missed the ak47 so much tht u wanted to madly rank up to lvl 70. Now Idk about you but ranking up to lvl 70 in mw2 took ages, therefore in black ops low lvls cuz u have every gun already at ur doorstep, and more prestiges because, the lower lvls.

I would have to agree with that. MW2 took too long to prestige and once you reached level 70 you would always want to wait a little while before you prestiged or you wouldn`t prestige at all because you got tired of having to reach level 70 to get the AK-47 again. Now at least you can get your favourite guns almost instantly instead of having to level up.

It shouldnt be as long as mw2 but not as short as cod 4 bcuz wen u hit the last presitge it start to get boring like in cod4 i was 10th very fast and then i stilled played (bcuz its a great game ) but mw2 took to long and i wanted to sell it bcuz of tht and all of the cheaters it had in it

I think their shud b 15 prestiges. But you can level up to any level and just unlock prestige at a certain level

there should be 1000 prestieges but you need like 1000 xp for first prestige 2000 xp for 2nd one …and then 2million xp for 1000 prestige haaa would be good and alot more badges … and also having the oppourtunity to stop at what ever badge

I feel to prestige in black ops should only take betweeen 18-24 hours. Sure with now 15 prestiges instead of 10 its gonna take alot longer. I think thats what Treyarch aimed to do. Make the game last as long as possible from the MP (gun game, one in the chamber, sharpshooter, and sticks and stones) the mini games add to more playing time. With 24 hours as the highest amount of time it requires around 15 playing time days to get to prestige 15. But 18 hours for lets say a good week, double xp weekend this would also make up for a bad week (which everyone has) So i feel going to back to COD4 it took me 12 days playing time to prestige to 10th 55. Which i was really proud of and now have 27 days playing time. MW2 i only did one prestige and 70 levels was too high. So i say they should make it just a little bit harder than COD4 because i prestiged one time in that game in 3 days! So there is my opinion…

Took me 10 hours to prestige in COD4 and 48 hours on MW2… It’s anyone’s guess how long it will take.

took me 19 hours, 45 minutes with no double xp, i’d say it would take on average just under 24 hours to prestige, maybe 22-23 hours
