Treyarch Want Your Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Reward Ideas
Every man and their dog has an opinion on what a player should be rewarded with when they hit the Prestige button in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Some good and some really bad.
The fact is, rewarding people with extra weapons, attachments or other equipment, for example, makes the game unfair for people who don’t choose to Prestige. So that’s out of the question. Whereas, “unlocking items that can give you a slight game play advantage like Create a Class slots is fair game”, according to the developers.
So, what do the guys at Treyarch reward you with when you Prestige in Black Ops? Surely we’re not just going to get extra Create a Class slots again. Well, that’s where you come in. Just moments ago on the official Black Ops forums, Trearch’s Multiplayer Design Director - David “Vahn” Vonderhaar, put that very question to you and invites you to help the team out with ideas.

I’d like to see the ability to use two perks from the same section (ex Slight of Hand and Warlord). That might give an unfair advantage, but maybe also creating a lobby for prestiged players 1-5, 5-9 and 10 might be fun too. I think more should happen to reward prestieging other than more classes. You can only shoot one gun at once anyways. As it is, I don’t really see a point to going prestige. Its like playing Half-Life through a second time and saying “Yah but now I’m Prestige!! n00bs!” Nothing is different.

For what it’s worth the best thing i can think of is when prestige is unlocked the perk tiers should be released to give one list of Perks.
Characters can only play in the prestige zone and not all Tiers should be merged at once but bought in a process of your choosing as the ranks of prestige are systematically unlocked for example:
Prestige 1. Character can now choose 1 more of any of the tier one perks [hardline,scavanger,lightweight,flakjacket,ghost] as part of their load out.
The character can have Hardline AND Scavanger or Flakjacket AND Ghost.
Prestige 7. The same for tier 2 Perks takes place.
A character may choose Warlord AND Sleight of hand or Hardened AND Steady aim.
Prestige 15. The character can now choose from his recently unlocked “Perks” list any perk any order.
This would make the game a whole lot better without having to add too much to an already brilliant game.

that sounds like a horrible idea, why would anyone do that?
if anyone responds with “you get an extra class slot”, i will find you and slug you in the gut, because you can literally create an entirely new loadout in the 15 seconds before each round starts.
i worked too hard (because yes, i AM a newb) to gain my pro perks, if i had to do them all over again, i would break the cd in half, and use one half to shove in my ear, and the other half to cut my wrists with.
make prestige worth our while if we have to struggle against people with a G11 all over again.
give us a super secret dildoh gun, or meybe have a treyarch exec personally come to my house and give me a blumpkin while i try to level up again.

every even prestige should unlock a different clan tag colors and every odd prestige should alow 1 more layer in the design of icon AND playercards,
prestige 5 should give you chrome/silver guns
prestige 10 should make you be able to make your own custom full playercard design, with more layers!
full prestige should unlock 100 extra player cards that have to be earned to unlock like on MW2
stuff the gun camo kiddies, there are too many already!
there is definetly something missing in this game compared with mw2 and it is depth! you pretty much get nothing at all for your hard work apart from knowing that golden guns and clan tag colors are one less prestige away!?

MW2 was great! the playercard challenges were really tricky to do and you felt like a million bucks when you completed certain ones. not to mention the designs on them were really cool.
alls treyarch has done is created a slightly revised MW2 but taken away alot of the fun and excitment by not including player card rewards and icons/avatars.

Prestige levels should let you keep perks and be able to combine primary weapons in custom classes. ie combine the commando with the spaz or sniper with a submachine gun etc.

I have been playing for a month and I guess things I would like would be like a 4th killstreak for top prestige and the prestiges u don’t get a class how about an extra file share slot I filled up my 6 slots like a week in I have trouble eliminating a cross map tomahawk for a ballistic knife headshot just an idea

I’d be happy with keeping my perks at pro (I shouldn’t be forced to play a mode I don’t like, ie Demolition, just to get ninja pro) and some extra File Share slots. As it stands I prestiged once and I am done with it. I don’t want to give up the AK and Commando just so I can have some barely visible emblem by my name.
I don’t care about face paint because I mean when do you ever even have time to look at it? In your class customization screen and that’s it. I never pause before I shoot someone and go oooh look at his face paint!
I’m happy with the selection of titles I have available now, so that does nothing for me.
Outside of the colored clan tag which takes getting to friggin 13th Prestige to get, and the gold camo, which takes 14th…there really is no reason for me to prestige again. Oh well, they may call me a noob since my barely visible emblem isn’t a lion or whatever, but I’ll be enjoying destroying people with my commando without the hassle and tedium of getting everything unlocked.
I agree that there should at least be new guns, nothing uber or unbalanced, but it’s no different than someone at level 5 getting raped with an AK because they don’t have it unlocked.

I think they should come up wit some new modes like a squad deathmatch with 4 different teams of 4 or a partner deathmatch where your matched with one person and you stick with them the entire time

I think u should add guns when u prestige. Add perks and equipment. For the people that don’t wana prestige its their choice not to. Why make everyone else suffer. Black ops is not a bad game. And after u prestige u should b able to keep money that u have or at least 10,000..oh and also when u prestige u should b able to choose a semi auto or fully auto as a secondary…

I think that when you prestige you should get to have a tiny bit more of health than lower prestiges otherwise there is no point in prestige if you are prestige 15 and you can be killed just as easily as a level 1 person

I think it is stupid that when you prestige you lose all your guns n stuff , i mean why work all the way up to unlock evrything and when you prestige you have to do it all again ? i think when you prestige you should keep evrything tht you have already unlocked and you should be able to unlock more weapons and more perks as you pretige up

I think Call of Duty Black Ops is a great game. However, you should be able to save your player settings like in Modern Warfare. That would make the game much more user friendly when you have several people playing on the same system. It would also give each player the ability to have 5 customized guns to their liking!

I think the guns per prestige level is a great idea, also adding an extra killstreak every 5 prestiges. I think that people that prestige deserve an advantage, like any warriors they have experience and commitment,and it should make prestiging more sought after.
Right now prestiging is treyarch’s way of keeping the game relevant, very boring and honestly quite patronizing.
Right now I have prestiged and i cant justify doing it again. Please make prestiging more worth my while.

Since Treyarch rid the prestige lobbies, I think other incentives should be given. It should go for both sides though. If you choose to presige, I think that you should be able to unlock modern weapons too. I completely agree with Volkwagon. But on the other hand, if you should choose not to prestige, when you hit level 50, there should be challenges to unlock the same so it evens out. Prestige or not to prestige. The extra classes make it cool. But overall going beyond 9th is a waste of time because face tattoos may look cool, a gold paint job may be awesome, but besides that, what’s the point? More perks, unlocking modern weapons. It would be killer if you unlock like camo, clothing, helmets, bandannas, boots, etc to customize your character. Not only could you customize your guns, but what your player looks like for say a Black Ops team or an OP40 team. So there’s my idea. Comments are welcome.

they should give camo customisations(realistic customisation incase players want everyone to wear sleek outfits) .i prestiged once cause there is no motivation for me to even prestige anymore.new layer for player card?so?
gold gun?SO?makes me a shiny target. maybe customisable voice commands with every prestige makes it worth prestiging in my opinion.reseting hard earned perks is a downer also. reset all my guns player card but never i mean never reset my hard earned perks.

well … i unlocked warlord pro i cant have 2 attachments on my pistol … id like to get an extra claymore with that also but dont.
maybe bring in one man army or that one on waw i cant remember but being able to carry 2 primary guns i think all the guns on black ops are rubbish i use the ak74 but still dont really like that they all jump around too much.
so yeh basically bring in perks like one man army or the one with 2 primary guns
oh maybe every prestige you get a box pop up on ur screen like the ones off zombies on waw with the ? on it and it gives you a random extra gun from mw2 like the scar or intervention

I think additional attachments should be available as you prestige up, folding stocks for subs, fully auto upgrades, anything. Perhaps the perk of carrying two primary weapons. It seems like there is little reward for giving up all your pro perks and purchases. Also, extend the content for Wii. Allow users to personalize player tags.

I think Treyarch should add kill streaks to custom classes. Wouldn’t it be great to make your own preset kill streaks for certain game types without having to remember to set them before the game. For instance CTF having sentry gun or SAM turret set up, etc (your choice of course). Please LIKE if you agree!

This is more of a suggestion to balance out the game. I’ve been an avid Black Ops player since the release in 2010. I find it very irritating how advantageous ghost/ghost pro is, and how a very large majority of players use it in an otherwise unsuiting environment for an unfair edge against other players. Ghost is supposed to be used in the role of sniping and support. To even out the game, I think Treyarch should make ghost/ghost pro availible to players who have a sniper rifle or assault rifle equiped (with an ACOG). It’s bulls**t how a player will equip ghost, be invisible to radar, run around with a shotggun blasting players away, all the while he is unidentifiable due to his gamertag being hidden.
Like wise, the other tier 1 perks should be given more advantageous roles. Such as, light weight might be slightly stealthier on radar or the gamertag isnt visible at distant ranges or scavenger should be able to replenish secondary launchers.

The only reason I have only prestiged once is because I enjoy having the pro perks and I bust my ass on the game to try and get them pro’d most of its just dumb luck. I would be more inclined to prestige if they just let us keep the pro perks that we have earned. that and the weapons getting slightly more powerful each time would be a plus too.

i think the new playlist flags is the worst thing they could have done to black ops . all i play is capture the flag hardcore and treyarch ruined it the 5 minute time limit is a joke , you barely have enough time to get one capture let alone three and the other game modes like domination and headquarters are a joke to me . i refuse to play unless they fix it back like it was and alot of people i play with feel the same way . just trying to get everyone that feels the same way to voice there opinion so that they might put it back like it was

i reckon when you go prestige you should be able to change what you character looks like so if your a a halo fan you should be able to change your person into the main character in halo or something if you a mario fan change you character to mario luigi etc if you a cod5 fan a zombie character it would make the game more fun

Who cares about prestige rewards……..i’d like to just play the bloody thing. Hosting a game now with your reduced frame rate means you get owned all the time. I have great broadband service. 32mb Download 3 upload. I pay good money for that. Because of my superior connection to the lame Black Ops server i get host and get pawned!!! Is this fair……is it hell. People like me are getting penalised for having better broadband connection to the server at the expence of our gaming. Treyarch sucks. If you got crap connection thats your problem not mine. Your cheap and you should get crap. Sick and tired of noobs owning me because they are pigging backing my connection. You suck. How about once you have prestiged for the final time! when you pick up a killed players weapon, they end up with your exchanged weapon?
Eg: i exchange my secondry weapon (Pistol) for a Famas, and that person ends up with my pistol as their primary weapon for a period of time?

You should have the choice to be able to put gold camo on any!! weapon grenade primary or secondary but only once per prestige ie. prestige 1; m16 or evn a gold grenade that does more damage ..so on so fort ,but only from level 10 onwards and not be able to change it at all even on second prestige, third and so on.so choose wisely .

Maybe an upgraded perk, so the more u prestige for Sleight of hand maybe the fast it reloads, maybe for Marathon and Lightweight the faster u run or maybe for Steady Aim the Aim is more steady or for Warlord maybe u have 3 attachments on one gun but, 1 sight with 1 attachment then switch to another sight with the other sight then switch again with 2 sights in 1 maybe say it’s 1 sight suppressor press a button u have red-dot then switch again u have both (If u choose more than 1) maybe at prestige 4 u can use maximum 2 perks from the same slot then prestige 6 maximum 3 perks from the same slot but them for slot 1 of perks at prestige 8&10 u get to select 2 then 3 perks from slot 2 then at prestige 12&14 u can select 2 and 3 perks from 1 slot sorry if u don’t understand but if u understand where im coming from give me a like, maybe the killstreaks cost less the more u prestige.
