Treyarch Want Your Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Reward Ideas
Every man and their dog has an opinion on what a player should be rewarded with when they hit the Prestige button in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Some good and some really bad.
The fact is, rewarding people with extra weapons, attachments or other equipment, for example, makes the game unfair for people who don’t choose to Prestige. So that’s out of the question. Whereas, “unlocking items that can give you a slight game play advantage like Create a Class slots is fair game”, according to the developers.
So, what do the guys at Treyarch reward you with when you Prestige in Black Ops? Surely we’re not just going to get extra Create a Class slots again. Well, that’s where you come in. Just moments ago on the official Black Ops forums, Trearch’s Multiplayer Design Director - David “Vahn” Vonderhaar, put that very question to you and invites you to help the team out with ideas.

A gold gun of your choice unlocked every prestige. At last prestige every so much exp earns a new gold gun. Customising guns is great (unlocking new colours and designs) but you should have to prestige to get a gold gun.

But I find one small error in that plan in that what if you want to get more gold guns but you cant because there are ONLY 10 prestiges and you already hit 10th prestige?

OK but still you can get pretty bored at tenth prestige when you unlock everything and all the challenges are completed.
I think if you want to get a gold camo for your gun(includes secondary) I think you should get it at around 350 headshots at the most possibly and maybe for the secondaries around 125 headshots at the least.
By the way if launchers comeback as secondaries maybe just to be fair 2000 kills because if you want a gold RPG-7 or M202A1 you have to work for it right?

nooo, you should get a gold gun after getting 1000 headshots with it, thats less headshots than it took to get the gold ak on cod4 pristiege-ing takes no skill, all it shows is that you have played alot. and to cut back on ppl playing headshots, friends shouldnt be able to join each others free for all’s if they want to try to get headshots in some other game mode let em. all you have to do is press the start button and you can see where every teammate is on the map, go find em and murk their partner

What’s the point? It takes so long getting a gold gun and if you prestige you lose it. It will stop people prestigeing(?). We want to get all of these pussies to prestige, so offer a gold gun.
No skill to prestige? I agree that people with high ranks usually play it a lot, but headshots are usually luck. The game doesn’t give enough time to be precise. And lets face it, who’s going to have the best set-up? People who play it a lot, because they can get more COD points.

I think gold guns should be earned the same way as they did on call of duty modern warfare 4 by head shots golden guns should never be awarded so easily if so they will lose their value everyone would prestige and everyone will have one so with head shots it filters the pro from the noobs… PLEASE make prestiging hack proof!!!

I think you should take out the tactical insertion because i see No perpose for it besides boosting, or people who plant it in the miidle cuz there dumb., I also think that through out each prestige there should be something other than a gold gun it serves no perpose for it besides lokking cool. I also think You should take out Commando because the other day i was on a 23 kill streak I was trying to get to my spot on terminal and some noob lunged around a door and his knife was atr least 2 feet away from me unless he had a bowie knife that should not have happened throughout each prestige you should unlock a different game type ill probably get alot of negative comments for that but it something that would make me want to prestige until i got my favorite game type

like Epoch said, customizable skins for characters. however, take it even further. customizable skins for guns. instead of red tiger and the others, how about pink tiger? diamond plate skin? the gold gun idea is great, but sometimes 250 headshots is a very hard to reach goal. fall camo is not even that cool. i play modern warfare 2 everyday, im tenth prestige, and im getting bored.
u shood also be able to custimize more than just primaries. customize secondaries, even grenades. it may seem far fetched, but when u are third prestige running through a jungle getting chased by VietCong or some Cold War soldier, woodnt you want the satisfaction of being able to through a gold and black grenade? or through out jungle camo C4? that would be an achievement worhty of treyarch.
you should also be able to customize ghillie suits. what with companies that brag about their high resolution and customization freedom that will be in this, u shood be able to customize clothes, use ghillie suits that dont make you stick out, and camo everything. people in the army today get chalk and paint to paint slogans and things on their tanks and barriers. you should be able to unlock symbols. like in army of two: the fortieth ay, you culd unlock jigsaw camo. in mag, you could get different helmets and armor because of your level.

Also how about when you get your kill streaks you can also change how they look like.
For example, the smoke exhaust from the Ark Angel Missle could be blue or red. In that maybe smoke from grenades or RPGs could be different colors too.
Also if the hind from the campaign is in the multiplayer it could be maybe in the colors it was in in E3 or maybe you could have a Gold hind.
Or the fire from the Napalm strike could be a regular color or it could even be a blue flame or green flame depending on what you want.
Or if they bring hueys in you could have a choice to put a sharks mouth on it or not.

i like anonymous’ idea fall is a littble bit boring once you get it i think you should start off at lvl and get atleast 10 colors to customize your OWN camo for your guns and/or ghillie.So that you can use your own creativity skills to have fun with your OWN desigs just like the “Make your OWN emblem” program on BLACK OPS.I also seen a comment about dogs wanting to be a killstreak in the game.NO DOGS i hated them just like ALOT of other people that played hardcore on COD:WaW.And just like anonymous said helmets should be in the game for awesome character custimazation.And how ze CODfather said i like the idea about changing the color of your RPG and SMOKE from smoke gernades.and maybe more smokes than u get in COD Mw2 beacause if you want to be stealth and u miss the first gernade you can use your second one.And YESSSS!.PLEAZEEEEE LET THERE BE MEH ZOMBEIZ.YOU GUYS REALLY DID A GREAT JOB WITH THE RANDOM BOX AND WEAPON UPGRADES IN WaW.I hope that you guys give us what we want in Black ops.DueCeZ

There should be, of course, awesome titles with each prestige, but also something customizable for your character, like a different suit or something. Something that will be able to tell apart the veterans, from the noobs.

The gold gun is a great idea but you should able to get that at 400 headshots cos it would be sick to have a gold gun and on the secondaires aleast 150 heasdshots for gold but on the lauchers like the rpg and the at4-hs and the javelin you should be able to have camos on those cause it would be pretty sick

I would like to see a set-a-killstreak ability unlocked after you prestige. i know like most forgetting to change my killstreaks after a search game is a hassle so this would be very useful. you could also use it to change the killstreaks to a more suitable one if your being spawn killed. the way it works is you choose 3 killstreaks in a class made for killstreaks and then before or during the game you choose which set of killstreaks you want to use.

Something I thought that would have been cool is the whole gun shows the camo and not only parts of the gun have the camo…
Oh yea and to reach the camos its easier because once I got fall for the scar I bored and prestige… so earning the camos should be a slight easier and for RPGs gold and grendaders gold 1000 kills or less because how many people would actually get 2000 then stay in that prestige and not earn better things I mean come on be real… I think since you have to buy the RC killstreak in the hardend and prestige reserved editions it should also be in the PSN store I’ll be willing to buy it

honestly why are they basing the prestige awards based on the fact that everyone wont want to prestige, prestige bonuses are supposed to be initiative to prestige, the main reason most people dont prestige is because its only extra classes,(and in mw2s case like 100 extra titles and emblems), so honestly in my opinion since cod has lost all tactical necessity of multiplayer fps, in my opinion going into prestige mode should unlock a 4th perk slot, nothing serious like god mode for the first 45 sec of the match or anything, but like team bonuses, since right now you unlock a extra class every other prestige, you should unlock a extra class one prestige and the 4th perk the next, and on the final prestige you unlock something either really good, or a 5th perk slot to be able to use 2 of the 4th slot perks, and what i mean by team bonuses like any one in the direct vicinity has silent footsteps/or has cold blooded/or bullets upgrade to fmj/ or non silenced weapons dont show up on the radar, and as a side note for this you would actually have to press the prestige button and you unlock it when you reach lv 70 meaning you would actually get the first 4th perk when you hit lv70 1st prestige, this is so people who prestige hack wont be able to get the extra perks.

Alright so here’s what I think.
1. For each prestige, you get to unlock a new piece of clothing/helmet/body armor whatever. You can pick Whig one you want, so you can unlock em in any order you want like the killstreaks from MW2. The players WON’T be at a disadvantage, and they’ll WANT to prestige, and keep advancing through the game. Just like the clothing idea above, I think it’d be somewhat amazing if you could maybe get different stickers to throw on the side of your gun like in the trailer. Like maybe start the game with 100 or so dofferent stickers,and when you prestige you’d have the option to choose a pack of like 10 stickers or a camo or something like that.
2.Make the ghillie suits customizable PLEASE!
3.Bring back the bolt-actions.
4. GIVE US THE OPTION TO PUT AN ACTUAL SNIPER SCOPE ON OUR GUN. Not like MW2 where the closest to a sniper was the Thermal scope, give us an actual scope that has adjustable zoom like the snipers.
5.Zombies, nuff said.
6. Make a big variation of maps, have some REALLY big ones, and some smaller close-quarters SMG action goin on.
7. Keep it the way it was in CoD4 and W@W, pistols only secondaries. The secondaries in MW2 were way too much firepower. Just give us a BIG assortment of pistols.
8. Be able to actually walk around with your knife out, and like extreme power slice their neck from behind n madness. BRING BACK THE GORE FROM W@W!!!
9. Lots of snipers, not 4 like MW2.
This is everything I would want in a game. Put this in the game, and I will splooge.

OHYEAH, and another thing I wanted to mention. I think that after getting a certain amount o kills with a gun, you should jsut be allowed to throw on another attachment. It shouldnt take up a perk slot. Say you get like 300 kills with the CAR-15, it’d unlock a challenge and let you put 2 attachments on THAT gun. You’d have to work to get your attachments, but it’d be alot better than having to use up a perk slot.

12. EXP rewards for when a team works as a team, say 3 guys clear a building togther in HQ they get an XP bonus for working as a team
13. ability to choice what maps you would rather play on so the console survers would only try fit you in any games on that map for instance.
14. gold guns, more guns, and not so long challanges that you get bored easily.
15. ability to choose wether you fire your assualt rifle in single fire, burst or full auto.
16. camo for secondarys
17. bling perk, instead of 2 attachments on 2 weapons what about 3 on one and none on your secondary, because if you have bling pro and RPG as a secondary it defeats the point of having bling pro anyway.
18. no commando, pro.
19. prestiging unlocks a new weapon and mabye an extra kill streak or perk. for example 10th prestige you get the M202 missile launcher. at first prestige you get to choose a new pistol. like a 44. or a makarov that you cannot get playing normally.
20. abillity to remove the names above peoples heads as on many an occasion some with a long name gets in your way you cant se what your aiming at.
21. a perk that allows you to have 2 perk 1 perks and no perk 2 perks for instance you could have marathon and sleight of hand and not have stopping power.
22. take away light weight.
23. juggernaught game mode like in halo but one player is actually a jugger.
24. snipers should be one hit kills no matter what even with a silencer.

Whenever I prestige, I look at all the guns and see a gun that I really want again but it takes so long to get. Why can’t we pick one gun that we want to use right away when we prestige because we like it so much? Does that ever happen to you guys? You prestige and you’re like “Hey, I want the M21 EBR right away, or the ACR”.

when ur the master of the room or sotmhing when ur 10th prestige, u can import ur own music to the game (ofc using a vote 2 determin if to allow or not) and if it is approved so the game will play regularly but with the music playlist playing alongside

It Would Be Awsome if MabyeWhen you get to tenth prestige or how ever high of a prestige it will go up to, you have the option to use your CP’s to unlock some clothing or helmets from WAW? Like your guy will have a vintage look. I’ve heard that you earn money and have to buy guns and attachments. I think this is a great idea and to further improve this you should earn bonus cash for prestiging. And to add some depth to this idea you could earn slighly more money every time you prestige.
I aslo agree with all the people that mentioned custom camos on weapons. You should also be able to have camos on secondary weapons.
And please please bring back the golden weapons!

1st prestige 51 ranks
2nd prestige 52 ranks
10th prestige you could have 60 ranks. and then each prestige on the extra level you could unlock something, like a new primary weapon, each prestige on the extra level you could unlock a primary weapon out of each category so at 10th rank 60 you would have 2 extra guns in each category of primary weapons that non prestigers wouldnt get.
ps. you should still get extra custom classes.

i think having a golden gun and suit is a real deal but still nobody asks about the killstreaks. I think a 30 killstreak would be a great challenge and put on the top something like a M.O.B or finishing killstreak like the nuke. I own all the COD games since COD classic to MW2, but the best of all is W.A.W.

in other cod games you unlock game types as you level and thats fine but they should have some when you prestige also. mike myers should be a 1st prestige unlock playlist. with the rules already set in place so you cant “accidentally” kill mike before it was time. and ill probably get voted down for this one but maybe after 2nd prestige there would be a zombie playlist like 6 vs 6 deathmatch with zombies also. just no points for zombies, they would be there to add a little fear and whatnot, and after the game progressed the zombies get tougher.

*For prestiging i think you should get the option to get camo patterns for your secondary guns like your pistols etc like on modern warfare 4..(golden desert eagle)
*You should also unlock more uniforms, hats/helmets, face paint, camos for uniforms to match prestige rank and gun camos and different sniper suits.
*For 10th prestige you should get something that sets you away from everybody else in game only appearance wise like a special uniform or camo pattern or helmet.

you should be able to upload a picture and use it for a camo or pick a color. They should also put in the choice of ANY three perks that you want(ex. SOH, Stopping Power, Scavenger)

custom camo on your weapons and on your clothing like rainbow six. custom camos on knives. ability to add extras on helmets. ie. ace of spades, pack of cigaretts ect. maybe a chemical warfare killstreak. no more noob tubes or make it that you have to give up a perk or something like in cod4. theyre really over used and take no skill to use. gillie suits actually work!!!!!
and some proper rewards for prestigeing. dont care what they are aslong as its not just an extra custom slot. cant see why you need more than 6 or 7 any way.

build a code that can ascertain weather someone acctually has the xp or game time to have gained 10th prestiege. like recklessreaper said. if some one has 10th after 2 weeks they sould be re set to 1st or is made to have a bright pink cammo or something stupid like that. lol.

I think once you prestige to the maxium times possible.. you should be able to choose the prestige emblem you want to show up with your gamertag.
Like if i prestiged 10 times but wanted the 9th symbol i could choose that and have that show up next to my gamertag

Any form of customization would be good. But I think that scrapping prestiging would be eveb better. And instead of that, you could just level up to like 500 or 1000 or something, and you unlock a new set of customization options or challenges per like 100 levels or something like that. That way no guns are lost along the way and challenges never get reset.

The prestiging system just needs a lot of work in general…you need to lose less. Not necessarily gain more, but like not losing all your guns and stuff when you prestige would be nice…

you should be able to have your guy were a suit and tie or redneck clothes at 10th prestige haha everyone running around in a suit looking like scar-face “say hello to my little friend”!
